NBVME Membership

The NBVME consists of 13 members, each appointed directly by one of the NBVME's constituent organizations. Members serve three-year terms, and can serve a maximum of three terms. Terms begin at the close of the NBVME's summer meeting. The Executive Committee is composed of the NBVME's officers (Chair, Chair-Elect, Immediate Past Chair, and Secretary-Treasurer), who serve one year terms in office.  The board hires an Executive Director, who serves as the administrative officer of the NBVME.

2012-2013

Appointed by the American Animal Hospital Association:

Dennis A. Feinberg, DVM. Charleston, South Carolina. Chair
Dr. Feinberg is a small animal practitioner in private practice and is a former member of the South Carolina Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

John D. Tait, DVM, MBA. Guelph, Ontario.
Dr. Tait is a practice manager, practice consultant, and part-time faculty member at the Ontario Veterinary College.

Appointed by the American Association of Bovine Practitioners:

Thomas Hairgrove, DVM, DABVP. College Station, Texas.
Dr. Hairgrove is coordinator for livestock and food animal systems for Texas Agrilife extension service.

Appointed by the American Association of Equine Practitioners:

Patricia J. Provost, VMD, MS, DACVS.  North Grafton, Massachusetts.
Dr. Provost is an equine surgeon at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.

Appointed by the American Association of Swine Veterinarians:

Rick Tubbs, DVM, MS, MBA, DACT, DABVP. Jasper, Alabama. Immediate Past Chair
Dr. Tubbs is a swine practitioner in private practice.

Appointed by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards:

Meg Glattly, DVM. Richfield, Minnesota.
Dr. Glattly is a small animal practitioner in private practice, and is a member of the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine.

Jay Hedrick, DVM. El Dorado, Kansas.
Dr. Hedrick is a small animal practitioner in private practice, and is a former member of the Kansas Board of Veterinary Examiners. 

Joyceanne Fick. Kuna, Idaho. Secretary-Treasurer and Public Member.
Ms. Fick is a former member of the Idaho Board of Veterinary Medicine.

Jon Betts, DVM. Woodburn, Oregon.
Dr. Betts is a mixed animal practitioner and is a former member of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Examining Board.

Appointed by the AVMA Council on Education:

Jayne E Jensen, DVM. Issaquah, Washington.
Dr. Jensen is a small animal practitioner in private practice, and is a member of the Council on Education.

Appointed by the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges:

Linda L. Blythe, DVM, PhD. Corvallis, Oregon.
Dr. Blythe is a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University.

Appointed by the Canadian National Examining Board:

Jack Wilson, DVM. Calgary, Alberta.
Dr. Wilson was in private practice and now serves as a senior professional skills instructor in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary.  He is also a member of the National Examining Board.

Appointed by the National Association of Federal Veterinarians:

Gary D. Gackstetter, DVM, MPH, PhD. Arlington, Virginia.  Chair-Elect
Dr. Gackstetter is a retired US Air Force veterinary medical officer, and presently works as a consultant for the US Department of Homeland Security.
