Dr. Jeff W. Tyler

The NBVME was saddened to learn of the sudden death of Dr. Jeff Tyler on May 17, 2009. Dr. Tyler, a Professor at the University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine, was completing his first three-year term as a member of the NBVME's Examination Development Advisory Board.  He also served for six years as a NAVLE item writer in the bovine and small ruminant content areas, and participated in numerous NAVLE item and form review meetings. One of his most important contributions to the national licensing examination program was to involve colleagues and former students in examination development activities. He will be remembered for his extensive knowledge of veterinary medicine, his insights into food animal practice, and his willingness to help whenever asked. Dr. Tyler's death is a great loss to the veterinary medical profession. The NBVME extends its sympathies to Dr. Tyler's family and friends.
